The brain learns to use shortcuts to help us access what we know. That can be very useful, but it may block the creative process. To begin turning on unused associations and unused parts of our brains, we must consciously practice doing things differently. I often experience picking up my camera as "turning on my eyes". In this workshop, I hope to teach you to turn on your awareness and open up to the unseen made invisible by routine and those shortcuts in our brains.
The plan is to meet at my office for coffee and an orientation. Bring any digital camera you own and your laptop. Later we break to go to a mutually selected location to practice looking and photographing things in a way that highlights things we might not have noticed before. We will return to my office for a light lunch and time to download and review your shots. Each participant will select about 6 shots to share and discuss with the group.
If you have special dietary needs, please inform me when you register.
This workshop will be repeated. Minimum class size is 6 and maximum class size is 12.
Cost $200.
